Spoof + Update about the Retreat!

Here is the latest installment of the His House election spoofs that we've been running. Stay tuned, as next week will bring the dramatic conclusion!

Also, thank you very much to everyone who prayed for the retreat this past weekend. We went up to a retreat center in Lake Ann, near Traverse City. Our students had a great time, and experienced some really excellent teachings. We had a very solid group attend, and I think a lot of people walked away feeling refreshed by it. The theme of the retreat was "Engaging God," and all of the teachings and workshops focused on how we can invest ourselves in God, and engage Him in all the different aspects of our lives.

I felt like my workshop about worship went very well, so thank you again to all of you who left feedback about it a couple of weeks ago. One of the things that God brought to my attention in talking with students is how important it is to be in the right mindset before a worship service. The times that I do something intentionally on a Sunday morning to get my mind and heart quieted, and ready to listen to whatever God may have to say, I usually have a stronger connection with God during worship, and I'm more in-tune and focused during a teaching. I am going to try to be in a habit of getting up a little earlier on Sunday mornings, and spending some time praying, and just being quiet. I encourage you to do the same!

Here's a few pictures of the weekend for good measure.

Also, there was a dance off. I'm pretty sure my friend Jason won.
